Short answers to the questions end users are most likely to ask.
What should I do before printing from a new bank cheque format?
Create the cheque design, load the cheque image and position all fields. Then use Test Print on a sample or photocopy and confirm every field is correctly aligned. Adjust and repeat Test Print as needed. Only after the alignment is confirmed should you save/use the template for live cheques.
Why does the printed cheque not line up with the preview?
The saved positions may need adjustment, or the printer may be feeding the physical cheque from a different starting point. Recheck the design and test the physical feed.
What does RD mean on Print Cheque?
RD means Remove Decimal. When selected, the printed amount is handled with zero decimal places.
What is the difference between To Whom and Description?
To Whom is the party you select from the list for your records. Description is the wording that prints on the cheque. They can be different.
Can I print only the missing date later on the same cheque?
Yes. Use the Remove Fields options to skip the fields you do not want to print now. For example, you can print a cheque without the date, get the authorised signature, and later print only the missing date on the same cheque leaf.
What is Amount in words split after used for?
It is used to split the amount in words into two lines. You choose how many words stay in the first line, and the remaining words go to the second line for better alignment.
Should I tick Save and Print?
Tick Save when you want the cheque recorded in Cheque Register. Tick Print when you want a paper cheque. You can use either option or both.
Why can’t I save a Payment Voucher?
The invoice total and cheque total must be equal. Correct the lines until both totals match.
What is the difference between Clearance and Party Collection?
Clearance means the bank has cleared the cheque. Issued Cheque Collection by Party means the receiving party physically collected the cheque.
Why is a cheque missing from the PDC Report?
Check the cheque date, bank, party name and invoice-month filters. The cheque must also have been saved as an issued cheque.
Does the software support any printer?
Yes. Linkway Cheque Printing Software supports standard office Laser and Inkjet printers.
Important printer requirement: the printer should have adjustable tray slides (paper guides) that can move inward and firmly hold the exact width of your bank cheque. This helps the cheque feed straight and keeps the printed fields aligned with the cheque.
When using a printer or cheque size for the first time, always do a Test Print on a sample before printing a live cheque.
Where do I change the printer?
Open Print Cheque and choose the Settings tab, then select Cheque Printing Printer.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 8 and above.
Which SQL Server versions are supported?
Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and above.
What happens after my trial period?
